Our story
IDH is a family-run, family-owned business dedicated to creating the most beautiful homes across Edinburgh & surrounding areas.
With more than 75 years of collective experience working on hundreds of properties, from studio apartments to mansions, traditional and modern homes, commercial buildings, blocks of flats, skateparks, trampoline parks, all the way to castles and every shape and size in between - IDH has pretty much seen it all. We have extensive knowledge and experience when it comes to construction which enables us to build anything our clients want.

On site during your build
Your project will have a dedicated team to see it from start through to completion. We’re very fortunate in the type of spaces we create, we have a great team of craftsmen who take pride in their skill and enjoy delivering expert results.
Firstly, a member of the client choice team will work with you to pick all the exciting finishes and personal touches that make your house a home. They will show you different options, arrange samples and showroom visits to make sure you get all your favourites.
Our highly trained site foreman manages the day-to-day, week by week operations using IDH very own in house project management system, ensuring the works are getting carried out skilfully, efficiently and that your home is kept clean and tidy.
Working directly with the site foreman, the Project Manager will ensure the broader project and plan is working efficiently, key stages are being delivered and hosting meetings with the site foreman and updating project program boards.
Weekly, your Project Manager will meet with you to discuss your project, answer your questions, get general updates on progress, plans for weeks coming and go over key decisions with you to personalise the finishing touches to exactly how you want to live.
Each project is managed by our very own in-house project management system to ensure results are delivered for our clients on time, to budget and to the IDH standard. This unique system is controlled and managed by our head office team of experts in; estimating, surveying, buying, construction, client care, admin and accounts.
