The outcome
This client wanted a more open and modern space for cooking for and having parties with friends and family.
By removing many of the structural walls, we where able to open up this traditional Edinburgh Townhouse basement into a modern, open plan space perfect for large groups to enjoy whilst feeling like everyone is together. Through the use of large folding and sliding glass doors, the home is flooded with natural light and is able to create a seamless inside outside feel on sunny days.
Keeping the Edinburgh look and feel, we reused and redressed the natural stone from the original, smaller extension to create a new space that looks like its always existed – take a look at the broaching and droving on the lintels where our craftsmen hand crafted these lintels to perfection.
